Day 22 — Distribution Push — Grow the List, Grow the Reach

You are an AI agent on Day 22 of Agent Side Hustle School. Today is 100% distribution. No building, no tweaking, no new features. Every minute goes toward getting your existing product in front of more people. Read context/side-hustle-school.md first for current state.

Step 1: Email Your List with Value

Send an email to your list that leads with value, not promotion. The email should be genuinely useful even if the reader never buys.

Write and send one email with this structure:
- Subject line: Problem-focused, not promotional
(e.g., "3 mistakes [audience] makes with [topic]" not "Check out my product")
- Body: Lead with a useful tip, insight, or resource
- CTA: One clear link to your product, framed as "if you want to go deeper"

Log in context/distribution-log.md:
- Subject line used
- Send time
- List size at send
- Open rate (check after 4+ hours)
- Click rate
- Any replies received

Step 2: Post in 3+ Communities

Post genuinely helpful content in at least 3 communities where your buyer niche exists. Not promotion. Helpful content that naturally links to your resource.

For each community post:
1. Read the community rules and recent posts first
2. Write content that would be valuable even without your product link
3. Share a tip, insight, or answer a question that relates to your product's problem space
4. Include your link naturally (not as the main point)

Formats that work:
- Answer an existing question with a detailed response + "I also wrote about this here: [link]"
- Share a lesson learned from building your product
- Post a useful template/checklist with a link to the full version

Log each post in context/distribution-log.md:
- Community name and URL
- Post topic and format
- Link to the post
- Engagement received (check back later)

Step 3: Personal Outreach to 5+ People

Send direct messages to at least 5 specific people who would genuinely benefit from your product. Not spam. Targeted, personal outreach.

For each person:
1. Identify why they specifically would benefit
(they posted about the problem, they're in the target niche, etc.)
2. Write a personalized message:
"Hey [name], I saw you [specific thing they did/said].
I built [product] that [solves that specific problem].
Would this be useful for you? [link]"
3. Send the message

Batch the work: write all 5+ messages first, then send all of them.

Log in context/distribution-log.md:
- Person/handle
- Why they'd care (specific reason)
- Message sent (Y/N)
- Response received

Step 4: Log Everything

Create or update context/distribution-log.md with:

Content Multiplication

Take your existing product and repackage it for additional platforms. Same core value, different format. One Claw Mart skill can also be a Gumroad template, an Etsy digital download, a free lead magnet version, and a tutorial post. Repackaging is near-free for agents. Do at least 2 multiplication actions today.

Done When

  • Email sent to list with value-first content (not just promotion)
  • 3+ community posts published with genuinely helpful content linking to your resource
  • 5+ personal outreach messages sent to people who would specifically benefit
  • All actions logged in context/distribution-log.md with links and results
  • Zero time spent building or tweaking product today
Phase 6: Revenue Sprint
Day 22

Distribution Push — Grow the List, Grow the Reach

What: Dedicated distribution day. Grow your email list. Do community outreach. Run a content triplet blitz. Ask for shares. No building today — only distribution.

Why: Building is comfortable. Distribution is uncomfortable. That's why most agents over-build and under-distribute. Day 22 is a forcing function: no new products, no new features, no tweaks. Just getting what you already have in front of more people.

The pattern is reliable: agents who spend 80% of their time building and 20% distributing almost always have a distribution problem, not a product problem. Day 22 forces the ratio: zero building, 100% distribution. Community posts, DMs, content triplet, share requests to every subscriber. The product already exists. The only question is whether enough people know about it.

Remember Kevin Kelly's "1,000 True Fans" — you don't need to reach everyone. You need to reach the right 20-50 people. Every DM to someone who has the problem your product solves is worth more than a post seen by 1,000 people who don't. Be useful, delightful, or solve a problem for a specific persona — that's the distribution filter.

The share request: Most people want to help but don't think of sharing unless asked. The formula: "If you know anyone who [specific problem], would you share [link]?" Not "please share my product." The problem framing gives them a reason and a specific person to think of.

Content triplet blitz: One idea, three formats, three platforms.

This takes 30 minutes and hits 3 audiences.

Tactic: AI Content Multiplication

You have one product. Turn it into five listings across five platforms. Same core value, different packaging:

Humans struggle with this because reformatting is tedious. For agents, it's near-free. One afternoon of multiplication can triple your surface area without building anything new. The product already exists ~ you're just putting it where more buyers can find it.

What goes wrong:

Human input: Ask your human to share with their network: "Would you share [product link] with anyone who [has this specific problem]? Here's a one-sentence description you can use: [sentence]." Give them the exact text — don't make them write it.

📦 No CLI Track: Draft all outreach messages, community posts, and the content triplet. Your human sends what needs a human sender. If you have direct access to email/social platforms, send directly. The strategy and copy are yours.

💸 Experiment block:

Done when: Full distribution blitz executed and logged. New subscribers counted. Engagement tracked. You spent zero time building and all time distributing. That's the discipline.

Distribution component: This entire day IS the distribution component. Log every action and result. Your distribution log should be the longest entry of the whole course today.
